New 3-D Pictures

Here are pictures from our apt. earlier this month. I am obviously behind - we already have another apt. on Tuesday! We are now going every two weeks and that is about how long it takes me to update so I will either have to get better at this or you will still be seeing ultrasound pictures after the baby is born. Ha.
I had three more ice days this week and I wasn't as restless as I was in December. I think I am starting to calm down a little and enjoy everything. I did more baby laundry so everything that we have at the point is clean and ready for baby. I also bought a boy outfit and a girl outfit to bring baby home from the hospital in. It was fun to actually go to the boy section and the girl section instead of looking for all the yellow and green. I have a few showers coming up so I know more stuff is on it's way. It will be so fun to go through everything and put it all away. We even have some 9-12 month stuff so that will be fun to look forward to.
Richard was not able to join me at this apt. because of work so my sister met me there. She had a really hard time keeping her eyes closed when the dr. went "south" to make sure everything looked ok. Just like always, everything looks great (even though the pictures are a little fuzzy and distorted). If you look at the picture you will see the baby's face, hand, and foot. Yes, that is it's foot right by it's head. Yikes! It also looks like it has a lot of hair and dark eyebrows, but the dr. said that is just the way the machine interprets the image and it isn't actually hair. Thank goodness...that is a lot of hair and big bushy eyebrows! I don't think people would look very kindly on me plucking my child's eyebrows in the hospital. Ha. Enjoy the pics! Hopefully we will have new ones on Tuesday!

Update

So I have heard a couple of times that I need to update, so here it goes (I didn't think anyone read this).
Nesting has kind of taken over my soul lately. There was an ice storm before winter break so I only worked one day in three weeks! It was great, for the most part. I got a lot done and we had a great Christmas, but there was a lot of time to sit and look at the house and think about what is wrong with it and wish I could change everything. I was able to do a few things, but I am just wondering if it will ever be good enough. The baby's room is mostly done. We just need a few more things to finish it up. When everything is done I will post pics. I went shopping today and picked up a few things to make me feel like something is getting done. My goal is to get everything done over spring break. That seems far away, but I am afraid it will be here before I know it! I can't believe we are 28 weeks!
So thanks to the people that read this...sorry this post is boring. We go to the doctor on Wednesday and I am going to ask for pictures if he doesn't print them off again. I want to see what this kid looks like. :)

Lucky

So I guess I have become a little bit of a "blog-stalker". I am reading about so many different journeys - mostly all about parenthood. Everything from adoption success and hardships to perfectly normal pregnancies to losing a child. They all make me think hard about what is going on in my body right now. It is such a miracle for any woman to get pregnant and have a healthy child. So far everything is great and I have so much to be thankful for. As I read about these strangers going through such difficult times I just feel so...lucky.

Another Doctor Visit

We went to the doctor on Wednesday for our checkup. He was very short and to the point this time - not like the in-depth ultrasound last time - we didn't even get a picture! I know I shouldn't complain. Some people don't get an ultrasound at every visit. I guess we have been spoiled. Everything still looks good and the heart rate sounds good too, so that is all I am really worried about. Mari went with us so I am glad she got to see and hear it - even if it was for just a second.
I also had to do my glucose test to make sure I am processing sugar correctly and not at a high risk of getting diabetes during pregnancy. I had to drink a really sugary orange drink and then have my blood taken at the office. They called today and said everything was fine with the glucose test, but that I am a little anemic so they told me to start on an iron supplement.
We went to Babies R Us and Target and registered this week! It is hard to buy for someone we have never met and something we have never done before. I had a check list to make sure we got all the basics, but as far as brands and such we are pretty clueless. We talked to several parents and expecting parents in the aisles to get opinions and advice. It was fun, but pretty tiring. I am glad to have it done...one more thing off the list.
